I wanted to specifically thank all those that supported me through this really bizarre period. In particular, my family, my close friends, the 2A community everywhere, and my many lj fans.

Even worse, one of the most unfortunate media debacles over the VA Tech shootings was the false accusations levied against Wayne Chiang, a Chinese-American who happens to collect guns and who also attends VT who also recently broke up with his girlfriend. Without waiting for the details from the local authority and going on a unfounded and stereotype-based “tip,” Fox News reporters Geraldo Rivera and Megyn Kelly (video) insisted that Wayne Chiang “might have been the perpetrator” as Fox News not only were searching for his residence but also kept broadcasting his pictures from his Facebook page all over the airwaves.
Sadly, Chiang was not only a victim of profiling, but also a victim of the old stereotype that “all Asians look the same.”

The point is, the owner of this blog is a legitimate collector and if he had done the shootings it would look lots worse. The actual shooter bought the pistols last month and last week for this very purpose. The point is, we don't need to fear the guy that stocks up on hundreds of guns. Instead the guy that bought two cheap pistols, weapons anyone can get legal or not, was able to do all this damage.
I admire your strength in the face of stupidity.
Just figured I'd let you know that you did really well in your interviews. It's nice to see a gun owner get some good air time and explain his thoughts. Hope things calm down for you a little bit. Maybe one day people won't look down on gun owners quite as bad.

I just want to say I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions, even when you apologize people question your motives, even when you try to do the right thing, people will call names and make threats. For some reason people can't admit to being wrong on the internet, it equals failing. To me it equates being human, which we are all, behind the screens and keyboards.
